BlackJack game rules

In Blackjack, card values are as follows: picture cards are worth 10 points, Aces 1 or 11 points and the rest are worth their face values. To begin the game bets must be placed. Bets can also be placed on the boxes of other players. In that case place your bet behind the bet of the other player. The player whose bet is at the front will have control over the position. Players must stop placing bets when the dealer calls out “No more bets”. The dealer will deal two cards to each player and one for the dealer. When all players have the desired number of cards, the dealer will also draw cards. In case the dealer’s cards total 16 or less, an additional card has to be drawn by the dealer. In case the dealer’s cards total 17 or more, no more cards can be drawn for the dealer.

When the player’s hand totals more than the dealer’s hand, then the player’s bet wins and is paid 1 to 1. In case the total equals the dealer’s total, then the bet is returned without changes. When the dealer’s hand equals more than 21, the dealer loses and all player hands win. The combination of an Ace and 10 (or a picture card) acquired with the two initial cards is called Blackjack and it is paid 3:2.

If the player’s fi rst two cards have the same value (for example 2 and 2), the player can divide (split) them into separate hands up to three times. Aces can be split only once and only one card is added to each Ace. Additional bets equalling the initial bet must be made on the split hands. The new card combination can start from two cards. After splitting the total of an Ace and 10 does not count as Blackjack, but 21 and it is paid 1:1. When the dealer gets a Blackjack, the player loses the 21 acquired as the total of an Ace and 10.

The player is allowed to double the bet with each combination of two initial cards (except Blackjack) by receiving only one more card. Split cards can also be doubled, except for Aces.

If the dealer’s fi rst card is an Ace, the players have the option of taking insurance for their bets. The amount of the insurance can be no more than half of the bet made and it is placed at the insurance line. Once the dealer receives a Blackjack, the insurance is paid 2 to 1. When no Blackjack is acquired, the insurance has lost and the bet counts according to the rules.

Combinations:

  • Ace = 1 or 11
  • Blackjack = Ace + picture or Ace + 10 with the two initial cards
  • 3 + 3 = 6
  • When the two initial cards have equal values, you can split your cards into separate hands.
  • Pictures = 10 + 10
  • 7 + 2 + Ace = 10 or 20 (Value of Ace is 1 or 11).
